Well, since Blogger no longer works, I’ll just do continue my blog on here.

On with the blog!

As you might have guessed from my recent posts, my relationship of the past 9+ years came to a crashing halt over last weekend.

I WILL NOT go into detail here about what he/she said.

Will not.

Let’s just say: we had been done for years, and what I discovered, suspicions I confirmed, was too shocking to ignore.

I could not forgive that.

I had to rip the Band-Aid off after 5 years of unhappiness and jettison this dead weight from my life.

It was the only way I could heal myself.

It was the only way I could move forward.

I am not innocent in this.

I made mistakes.

HUGE ones.

I was dishonest with myself.

I was dishonest about stupid things.

What I never was, was dishonest in my heart.

Dishonest in my faith.

Relationship faith, that is.

Can’t come back from that.

No mistake I could have made, short of murder, could justify explaining away what I learned.

What I saw.

What I read.

Nope, sorry. Say what you want, but nothing is worse than being unfaithful, even emotionally.

Why am I spilling this here, do you ask?

Because.

Cats.

Nothing is better in a breakup than a cat.

Cats have an uncanny ability to JUST KNOW.

They KNOW before you KNOW.

My cats haven’t left my side.

Comfort.

Security.

Unconditional love.

As I rebuild my life, face my demons, and learn never to make the mistakes I made in this decade long waste of my time again, one thing is certain.

I will only open my heart, my soul, my TRUE self to my cats.

….and remain a happy bachelor.

The moral of this story?

  1. Don’t ever open yourself up truly to another human being. Don’t expose your inner most insecurities. Keep your demons to yourself. Trust me, you’ll get taken advantage of. I, for one, wish she never stood by side when I was hospitalized over 8 years ago. I wouldn’t have wasted the next bunch of years.
  2. If you’re in pain, GET A CAT!

The end.
