It’s all for clicks and engagement and it’s made twitter a toxic place to me. I’ve muted all the tech accounts save yours and a choice few. That being said, my 13 and 14 do get warm during heavy use and charging, so I don’t think this isn’t a thing entirely. Apple can do better to cool these phones.
