Wow. Whether the M2 Air is intended to be an editing machine or not, if the base M1 can handle it, the M2 should be able to at least handle the same amount as the M1. That and a price increase makes this unacceptable. When you're spending that much, there shouldn't be this kind of compromise. Just my take. I have a base model M1 Air and it is without a doubt my favorite macbook.....EVER.
